Seems like the HIV positive and gay communities are almost totally oblivious or ignorant of the impending cuts. A demo in a cemetery will be easy for the governor to ignore. Just wonder how many will die from this fatal disease because of these cuts if there isn’t more of any outcry. Members of the public I’ve talked to care but aren’t aware of these cuts, by the time it’s announced it’ll be too late to change! Hey people, let’s act now to make our case, or the governor will think we don’t care!
You know that is very true, I was totally unaware of the proposed cuts, it wasn’t until I was watching ABC news on my ipod just now that I became aware. I myself am living with HIV and someone who depends on state funds for my meds. and healthcare, it is a scary thought for me and I am sure for many others who are at risk if this budget cut goes into affect. What can we do to help?
I can’t make it to the rally, is there anything else I can do?
Thanks
Harley
Robert is correct in saying that a demonstration *inside* a cemetery would be easy to ignore. However, a demonstration down the middle of Santa Monica Blvd during Friday afternoon rush hour will not be easy to ignore!
You’re correct that we must act now. Better to be in front of the cemetery than buried inside. Use Facebook, MySpace, email, texting and whatever else you can think of to spread the word.
Also, use this link to enter your zip code & easily find your senator & congress people to contact:

Hi I was there with my husband and sister. It was such a nice and peaceful rally.
To me and my husband it was an emotional time, because we are HIV+. Thank you all for your love and support to all of us who are HIV+ . Once somebody said ” I have HIV, HIV does not have me” but is hard to understand how somebody can take away all the services that have helped to live a better quality of life.
To all my dear people who are HIV+ don’t let anybody take away your dreams, hope for a better future and keep smiling at life.
Love you always,
Susie
